Agnieszka Handzel-Kordaczka is a Polish artist living and working in London. She graduated in Painting and Ceramics from the University of Silesia Art Institute.
Drawing is an integral part of her painting. She combines drawing with acrylic paint, sometimes setting a sharp, expressive line against subtle areas of colour. The contrast between the two is an important part of her work.
Her painting is inspired by everyday life and the things that happen around her. She is drawn to small, ordinary moments rather than big events – moments that may seem insignificant, but often mean the most to us. Rather than simply showing a scene, she is interested in what a particular moment carries with it: the experiences and emotions behind it. Her paintings try to capture a brief moment and the feeling that comes with it.
